Much like most of you I am totally obsessed with Instagram, it’s gone way WAY beyond my liking of Facebook, Twitter or even dun dun duuuh Pinterest! It’s such an easy way of sharing what’s going on with my business aswell as a snapshot from behind the scenes and also what I like to do in my spare time! Here are a few things I’ve been up to recently..
-Visited Petersham Nurseries in Richmond for a mooch around some beautiful flowers & amazing cake!
-Went to see Alices Adventures Underground…an quirky cool immersive theatre show with a very cute white rabbit! (and I got to steal the Jam Tarts from the queen!)
-Designed some beautiful stationery for Lily Vanilli & Symmetry Breakfast as part of the Italian Eye‘s tour of Tuscany!
-Learnt some new skills at a modern calligraphy course at Westelm London!
-Visited Burleigh Pottery in my lovely home town Stoke-on-Trent for some new bits & bobs!

This is the wedding of the lovely Felicity & Scott who were married in April at Haughton Hall Hotel in Shropshire with beautiful photography by Vicky Strongitharm of Amrose Photography. They had the most original ‘Marryoake’ wedding video I’ve ever seen by super cool videographers Electra Films. Follow this link if you used to be *ahem* a fan of the boy band ‘Five’ and prepare yourself ! http://bit.ly/1KHaqdH
I think my most favourite detail of their wedding though is Felicity’s amazing Charlotte Olympia ‘Kitty’ shoes that were hidden beneath her dress..in her own words she’s a ‘crazy cat lady!’ I have serious shoe envy for these cuties even though I’m a dog person! (Charlotte Olympia please please design a ‘puppy range?!’ )

Dress by Mori Lee at Adele Louise Bridal in Wolverhampton
Flowers by The Flower Shop at Home in Tettenhall
Felicity & Scott chose the ‘Bloom‘ range for their invitations and had our matching on the day stationery.
Thank-you for being so great to work with you two and here’s to a long, happy (cute kitty filled) marriage!
Well this is very exciting! Our first blog post about a ‘charming’ couple! This is the the lovely, lavender filled wedding day of Elly and Adam who were married a few weeks ago at Hilles House, an amazingly beautiful house in the Cotswolds with views to die for over to the Malvern Hills. It’s a real stunner and so is Elly in her beautiful dress from Cotswold Bride – a total English rose.
Elly was one of our first ever brides who replied to an advert about having a bespoke stationery collection designed to help get us up and running. Elly & Adam were amazing to work with, everything you would want from one of our first commissions. Her wedding ideas filled me with inspiration (which is always good as a designer!) I loved working with her ideas so much so that I produced 2 quite different collections knowing there would be others who would love this theme too. Elly and Adam picked the collection that is now known as ‘ Summer Fete,’ featuring lavender, wild flowers, bunting, coconut shy and pretty calligraphy. We then added to this collection a few weeks before the day with a few bespoke signs for the venue. One of which was for Elly & Adam’s GREAT WEDDING BAKE-OFF (!!!) table. Such a good idea!
And here are a few photographs from their big day which they have kindly shared. Please get in touch if you’d like to work with us on a bespoke collection. The final image at the end of this post is an example of a moodboard we produce to help us with your bespoke vision, we’ll work with this and maybe a few Pinterest boards (!) until we’ve got the look just right and only then will we start designing! Oh and also we LOVE love love receiving photographs from your big day and blogging them so please do email them over if you have time after the big day is over! It’s so nice for us to see how your day turned out and to put faces to names!

The lovely girls at the Festival Brides blog did a little Q&A with us, if you’d like to get to know us a little better you can read the full post here :- http://festivalbrides.co.uk/festival-brides-love-the-charming-press.
They began the post by saying this…
Many of the companies that we feature on Festival Brides are small businesses, usually one man/woman bands, who saw a gap in the market for something different and decided to fill it with their own business. We are huge advocates for these sorts of companies because the people who make them a success work extremely hard and have a certain passion and drive that only comes when you own your own business. That’s why we want to give these people a chance to tell you why they rock and why you should book them for your wedding!
We were really touched by these words – and heres why..
The Charming Press began (as most wedding stationery companies do) with our wedding, we designed and printed our own stationery because we couldn’t find anything on the market that perfectly fitted the bill – and as a graphic designer it needed to be perfect! We wanted our stationery to be pretty (well I did!) and we wanted teepees, and we wanted them to be really personal to us – hence we had little Landrover Defenders at the bottom of the particulars! It planted a seed in our heads that grew and grew, surely other people wanted quirky, more modern stationery?! There seemed to be more and more couples going for teepees, yurts, and hand fasting ceremonies etc and we set out to give them the stationery they wanted to compliment their big day!
I think it takes alot of courage to trust your instincts and design your wedding day exactly the way you want it..it takes courage to go against what other people might not think ‘normal & traditional* and do it your way. And when it all comes together you think ‘wow- we did this! And everyone loved it!’ It gives you confidence, and I don’t know whether it came with age or experience but I suddenly thought..if other people can run successful business then why can’t we?!
So every night (after the 9-5 day job) we designed the collection! And here were are today!
We’ve recently been added to the *Rock My Wedding* Love Lust List for the North West region & also Nationwide! Woohoo! We’re super proud of this as RMW was the blog we looked at every. single. day. when we were planning our big day! This is one little goal that has been ticked off the long list of aspirations for this new little business!
